Files in the Client Portal
If you have Files enabled for the Client Portal, clients see a Files tab where they can view and download documents you’ve shared, and upload their own files.
To enable Files for clients, go to Settings → General → Client Portal → Features → Files.
What Clients See
In their Files tab, clients can see:
- Files you’ve shared with them — documents you’ve uploaded and set to visible in their profile
- Files they’ve uploaded themselves
Downloading Files
Clients can download any file that’s been shared with them by clicking the download icon next to it.
Client Uploads
Clients can also upload files from their portal — completed worksheets, forms, or any documents they want to share with you. These appear in the Files tab of their profile in your dashboard.
Allowed file types: Images (JPG, PNG, GIF, etc.), documents (PDF, DOC, DOCX, XLS, etc.), text files (TXT)
Maximum file size: 10 MB per file
Privacy
- Files you’ve hidden are not visible to the client
- Files the client uploads are visible to both you and the client
- Storage is shared across the practice (500 MB total)
