Built-in Video Calls
AyloCare’s built-in video call feature lets you connect with your clients face-to-face without leaving the platform. No downloads, no third-party accounts — just click and call.
How it works
The built-in call system uses WebRTC, a secure, browser-native technology for real-time audio and video. Your connection is peer-to-peer, meaning the call goes directly between you and your client for minimal latency.
Starting a call from Messages
- Go to Messages in the sidebar
- Open the conversation with your client
- Click the video camera icon in the top-right corner of the chat
- AyloCare will notify the client that you’re calling
- Once they accept, the call connects in your browser
Your client does not need to be inside AyloCare when you call — they will receive a notification and can join from their device.
Joining a scheduled session
When an appointment is scheduled, both you and your client can join the video call at the appointment time directly from the Calendar.
- Go to Calendar
- Find your appointment
- Click Join Session (or the session link)
- The call opens in your browser
During the call
Once connected, you have the following controls:
| Control | Description |
|---|---|
| Mute / Unmute | Toggle your microphone on or off |
| Camera On / Off | Enable or disable your video feed |
| Hang up | End the call |
Your video appears in a smaller window; your client’s video fills the main screen.
Granting camera & microphone permissions
The first time you start a call, your browser will ask for permission to use your camera and microphone.
- Click Allow when prompted
- If you accidentally denied permission, open your browser settings and reset permissions for the AyloCare site
Tip: Test your camera and microphone before your first session so you’re ready when it counts.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | What to try |
|---|---|
| No camera or microphone found | Check that your device has a working camera/mic and that no other app is using it |
| Client can’t hear you | Ask them to check their speaker/headphone settings |
| Poor video quality | Both parties should use a stable internet connection; close unused browser tabs |
| Call not connecting | Refresh the page and try again; check that both users have granted permissions |
